I only see a block and hide user. I'm not sure how that is different than mute.

Block is putting the jar outside too.
I mean technically, in Amethyst. Is there a difference in the way a block functions, vs mute in another client? It is it just a difference of the word used to describe the function?
This is what I'm saying. I want different functions. I want to mute someone who posts too much and I'm hangover that day. I want to block and not see that fucker if they do something really stupid. When I mute I still want to have the quick option to see that note, while block would be the dude locked in the basement.
What you call mute would be a new feature.

But amethyst has a security filter that a lot of people don't know they have.
