re: file uploads - I just don’t think files belong in b64 encoded json events.

and there have to be no less than 3 open nips for some form of file uploads at the moment.

I agree. Websockets has a binary message. Relays can double as HTTPS servers too. I'm not settled on the solution, but base64 isn't it IMHO.
