Awesome, you should find a launcher you really like. I highly recommend Nova Launcher. nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 I'm curious if you use a certain launcher?

I used Nova Launcher many, many years ago. Kevin is a hell of a nice guy and great developer. I just use the stock Google launcher now that my rooting and ROMing days have come to an end.

I still stick to Nova so that no matter what OEM I switch to I still have the same UX when I move and I can backup/restore my Nova backup. Not to mention all the features... Folders, hiding apps, custom grid sizes, etc.

Awesome man. Congrats πŸ€™πŸ»πŸ€™πŸ»πŸ€™πŸ» Welcome to Team Android. We meet on Nostr Nests everything Wednesday at 9pm EST.

Never had an iPhone in my life. I've worn out couple of android phones over the years. I've bought myself pixel 7 on premiere (which was hard since google is not selling those in country where I live) and I love it.

Best android experience you can get.

PSA google is probably more exploitative of its users than apple. consider degoogling the thing.

de-googled GrapheneOS for me since last year. A little funky for some uses, but I'm doing what I can. Perfectly functional.

Going hardcore 'degoogled' can be funky relative to your previous dependence on their services.

However you know you can run a perfectly isolated version of your old Googled life by installing sandboxed Play Services in a secondary user profile?

It's what I do needing to manage Family Link devices.

Yep.

It feels dirty, but reality in the short term.

Perfect timing, it's on sale for father's day! I might need to get one too

Best of luck friend. Hell of a product at a very agreeable price.

GrapheneOS rite?

Next step. Still getting familiar with the OS as a whole. (very safely)
