I say the main purpose of taxes is to keep the masses in chains. However, the mental gymnastics around "if not for taxes who'll build the roads?" is required to keep the brain fog thick af.
Taxes means paying for your own suppression. So the service rendered truly is suppression, not roads or anything.
Seems counterintuitive at first but when look at the psychological setup of most people you realize it’s really a service.
Just not for smart capable people but these find a way out.
