Hey lads, what is the best wallet for Bitcoin for Android and iOS? Might onboard a few new bitcoiners and want to know what is good. (:

green or blue

What do you mean?

If you’re looking for on-chain only, Samurai is the best. All the features you want in an on-chain wallet and privacy enhancements built in like coinjoin.

I’ve heard about this wallet. Will it be suitable for beginners though?

Good question. They might get overwhelmed with features. On the other hand the could jump start into using BTC more privately.

+1

Green wallet.

Thanks for answer!

Blue Wallet is a good starter wallet i would say.

My favorite one in both systems is Phoenix

Thank you for recommendation, will definitely check it!

Samourai, there is no second best.

Thank you! ⚔️

I use coinbase wallet and ledger live. But, research and see what features appeal to your needs. There are many to choose from. eToro, Exodus, Trust.

Thank you for your answer. However, I personally would rather avoid using wallets on exchanges, therefore I wouldn’t recommend to people I try to onboard.

Loving pheonix and breeze. Non-custodial Lightning. Coldcard for hardware with sparrow

Thanks mate! 😉

+1 for Samourai Android for onchain, but most individual nocoiners in the world nowadays can’t afford onchain holdings or txs , and giving them small amounts onchain is wasteful and pointless.

A lot of sats have been lost that way over the years, from personal experience. :(

So, i guess Phoenix is a good compromise, and also works on iOS.

The negative is it would take 10k sats just to open the first LN channel, which could force close for unknown reason at any time to onchain, as happened to me recently on iOS, after just a couple days use. :(

With current noncustodial wallets, trying to onboard nocoiners is wasteful and seems to do more harm thangood, because the UX is still so bad. :(

That’s why bigbrother custodial, like Wallet of Satoshi, is so popular, unfortunately.

I see… I’m sorry for your experiences.

If you own Android phone, did you consider Electrum?

Anyway, thank you for your answer? 🫡

I have used Electrum for PC several years and continue. Has much capability, but the best way i heard its UX described was, “It’s like joggling chainsaws”.

I agree.

So, i haven’t tried it on mobile or Lightning.
