I haven't updated for a while. Maybe it's a new issue? #[6]
Nah, just our NIP 94 implementation.
But this went live two days ago and users are still updating, meanwhile most clients haven’t implemented it. Isn’t it just a little disingenuous to say it’s not a new issue?
These are just APKs... It hasnt shipped to the Play Store yet.
Besides... nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s didn't go for the offer to do it optimally and no one agrees on how to make this work with urls directly. So.. we are going to be here for a while.
Thanks for the clarification. As you may know, I am 110% for adding features that improve accessibility and add features like image descriptions. I want to see all clients have the widest possible reach because it’s what helps us #growNostr. I am just finding the process of getting there extraordinarily messy and hope the dev community can work on solving these problems together in a more constructive way.

Agreed in principle. Maybe I should try not to care so much. I’m not a developer, so I can only speak as a user. Many of us have invested a good deal of time in establishing a new community, and don’t want to see it beceome fractured and divided.
What we have here is bigger than a protocol or a set of new features. We have this one chance to remake social media interaction (and a lot of other stuff) that probably won’t come again, and I would hate for us to fuck it up.
This NIP 94 debate will happen over and over again. Those of us coding different media types for email systems back in the day know this very well.. there will be always a new client doing something crazy and if it is good an catches on, everyone else has to support. If it is not good, the client disappears.
So, the community must be strong enough to withstand it. Otherwise, we won't succeed..

That could be it. Maybe hold off updating for a bit? I have no way to know what’s going to work and what isn’t. I just know i see stuff like this and it’s a mess on every client I use.
