i noticed oftentimes when i was on NOSTR i thought i was on Twitter and at first i attributed this to me losing my mind but then i realized they both look exactly the same.

below is a juxtaposition of home home page in Nostr and Twitter. they look fucking identical.

because i simultaneously post on both sites that makes it too easy to become confused which site i'm on.

i suggest nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr thinks of a way to differentiate the look of noStrudel from that of Twitter.

and to be 100% clear i think noStrudel looks very good. almost certainly the best looking NOSTR client. but it simply looks too similar to Twitter.

Apple and Windows software have their distinct looks. It would be very hard to confuse one for the other. And it isn't even necessary since nobody runs both in the same browser at the same time so there is no danger of getting confused whether you're in Windows or OSX.

Ideally noStrudel should look as different from Twitter as OSX looks from Windows.

but that's MY OPINION. maybe others think that it is a good thing they look similar ?

i want to hear everybody's opinion as this is a purely subjective matter.

more specifically i think it is a GOOD idea for the ICONS to be THE SAME across ALL platforms.

so if the "messages" icon looks the same in noStrudel and Twitter that is a GOOD thing

but the OVERALL LOOK OF THE PAGE should be distinct so you know what page you're on without having to think about it

here is an easy fix i suggest - change the menu text to ALL CAPS and change the menu text color to BLACK ( only the text should be black - the icons should stay white )

it will be just barely readable on dark gray background but most people will just click on the relevant icon anyway - the text is there just for backup in case you forgot which icon is which.

also any menu item that is active ( the one you're currently in ) should have text in white as well.

it will be overall a cleaner, more distinct look and still functional.
