how do you value a note:

1) zap them to assign real value

2) repost them to give reach

3) likes don’t count, so ignore them.

If I think my followers will like it I repost and usually quote

Usually I just zap, if it makes me feel something I zap

What I want to see more of, I like

I agree with you that zaps and reposts are the highest signal on a note but I always hesitate with the order of the two. Zaps gives it real value but reposts puts them in front of more people, and potentially more real value can get assigned to it. But personally I think comments are extremely valuable since they can create a connection between two npubs.

my rule of thumb is simple: i look at every note like it came from someone with few followers. if i think it deserves more reach, i repost. if it’s from someone with a big audience, it’s already getting out there. zaps are just a thank you for me, whether on a note or a reply.

Totally agree that zaps and reposts carry real weight βš‘πŸš€ β€” they show true support and help spread the message. But sometimes a like can still be a simple nod of respect. Every signal has its place, just different levels of value.
