This is Fran. She 13 and has kidney disease. She stopped eating and got down to 4.5lbs during the fall. We thought we were going to lose her.

I’m happy to announce that after some new meds and tons of extra treats, Fran is back up to 7lbs.

And while she still has some weight to put on, she’s the healthiest she’s been in a while.

kidney problems are usually due to the food they ingest. Dry food with questionable ingredients do the trick, especially if she is like most cats, very picky at drinking water.

Does she go outside daily?

Indoor cat. She’s on wet food now. Definitely picky drinking water.

one way to improve her drinking habits would be to get a big bowl/container made of clay/pottery with fresh water, none of that plastic crap. Stainless steel could improve it also, you have to test it.

Better option would be an indoor "pond" or an aquarium with plants and some fish in it. They love to drink there.

I made a small pond just outside the house and the cats love to drink there. They drink a lot more than before. It has plants, fish, frogs and water snails. That's it.

Fran is so beautiful :) awesome news!
