If systems were based on how individuals are, they would cease to be systems

Provocative thinking... But I don't see the ontological coherence.

Systems need equality.

Individuals are inequality.

Doesn't fit.

TikTok thinks people ought to doom scroll and videos ought to autoplay for them so they can be hooked. It’s an engineered behavior. Society as a whole is an engineered behavior shaping mechanism. Humans aren’t what they are in the first place because we are literally shaped by our environment.

you are right that environment plays a huge part but I'd argue that even engineered behaviours are rooted in "what we are", TikTok is exploiting our desire for instant gratification, curiosity and need for social validation.

Did you have any particular system(s) in mind?

any totalitarian ideology (communism, fascism, theocracies), degrowth or anti-capitalism, libertarianism... the list goes on and on

False; #Bitcoin / #BTC exists. 🤙
