The English Rumi translations never convey the emotion and beauty as the originals in Farsi :(

My dad speaks Farsi

I can still connect with what he means spiritually. Timeless words

You’re incredible. I love your mind and words always

ily too 💜

I suck at reading Farsi, so I read the translations, the fact it’s still so transcendent and beautiful translated, shows how impactful his words are.

Exactly. It’s all about the depth of the meaning. Have you read the 40 rules of love?

Yes!! So good 💗 your taste in books is incredible

We have things in common I guess 💖 it was a life changer for me

Urdu & Arabic ones are way better

Ooo love the Arabic ones too, my mom used to tell me his poems in Arabic <3

Same & I'm not good in farsi but mother is she to teach me a lot. Mothers💜

Agreed. My great uncle (may God bless his soul) used to write lovely Urdu poetry and I still have a few collections of it that I read from time to time. It loses its beauty when translated.

Urdu is the most polite language I have ever heard in my entire life, urdu with kashmiri accent💜🤌

Oh for sure, it’s impossible for me to be rude in Urdu. That’s what English is for.

Urdu's poetic beauty precludes rudeness; it is pure pleasure. 💜🤌

Really?

Really

Do you speak Farsi?
