The odds of trump getting Ross out of prison is under 10%. He's just like any politician. During campaign he panders to his audience and then after election is all excuses. It's not just trump it's every politician. Voting is a humiliation ritual.

This amuses me as after Trump was in office for a couple years the cofounder of the startup I worked at had this complaint: “No one expects politicians to keep promises. Trump does.” Then he walked away having explained his hatred of Trump to his own satisfaction. I still wonder who he thought was the bad guy in that conversation.

The power to commute sentences is in the executive's discretion; neither the legislative nor judicial branch can interfere with or override that power. There is no downside if he does it and a pile of pissed bitcoiners if does not. If he is elected, he will do it.

Can we count on other more general promises … no.
