First Nostr post and wondering how I missed its existence. F# developer learning some #golang (y'all need algebraic types! ;) ) and thinking his next Go learning project might be an implementation of the Nostr protocol.
Living in Texas, United States of America, but my heart is in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I haven't seem my heart in over a decade now but watch YouTube videos of people there to keep up. Yet I still have not learned a useful amount of Spanish. Feels like an area I need to work on.
Nice to meet you!
DNS is basically a known directory of addresses right? All you need to do is host your own and get others to use it. I suppose there may be regulatory issues to protect existing providers but the idea seems sound. Transferring a file works but updates are slower and copies of the file become inconsistent.
This amuses me as after Trump was in office for a couple years the cofounder of the startup I worked at had this complaint: “No one expects politicians to keep promises. Trump does.” Then he walked away having explained his hatred of Trump to his own satisfaction. I still wonder who he thought was the bad guy in that conversation.
