I was looking more at a diesel generator. A battery solution would have to be a full shipping container of batteries to cover for any long solar or power outages.
Discussion
I have found a solution that I can install for about $14.5k that will fit in my garage. Batteries are rated for 10years.
I have much better access to solar in FL than potentially diesel if things ever go tits up, and I like the 0 decibel output of battery system since the area I live is not rural, but not too densely populated
Ok Florida is maybe manageable because of warmer climate and a lot of sun. I’m in an area that still has some colder winters and a timespan where the sun hardly rises above the horizon..
For the clouds get a cheap gas generators to charge it maybe.
Have two gas generators that have gotten me through hurricanes in the past. Should extend power options way further for any extended outages
Adding the battery may be a big asset because you could use it to charge the batteries then cycle the generator on and off as needed. Where did you get you battery’s
Current setup being shipped is 18 kWh of ecoflow delta pro ultra X with one inverted and smart panel. Bought them from Costco with their Black Friday deal (goes through Dec21 though). Can add on up to two additional inverters and up to 90 kWh of batteries. The space I have in mind will probably cap at 60 kWh and two inverters
I dont know what a "long solar outage" would portend, but if its ragnarok and fenrir eats the moon we have bigger problems.
