Is it a similar pattern to something else? Or just not matching outgassing patterns? What do you think it is?
I have no idea. Err, no good ideas. Outgasing wouldn't cluster where it already outgased. And the article says its from sublimation of frozen CO2, but that's wrong because it doesn't sublimate from the inside first, so that can't make that mark.
