We only have 11 days left in 2024. I believe my prediction of all major clients supporting outbox by the end of the year is going to fail.

Sadness.

What was the prediction?

I had several. I was right about content discovery though, thanks to DVM feeds, algo relays, etc.

i predicted every client will be more or less as shit as they were last year and yet there would be more shit clients

all of this is just a bad fiat-induced hallucination

Why are you here then?

just to feel good about being right, i pop in once every while, just to see if i was wrong.. but i wasn't

deep down you know i'm right, but since you feel like you belong and someone, you shove that feeling further down, but one day you'll have to admit that all the cheerleading and circle-jerking didn't get ya'll anywhere

but you'll say you enjoyed the ride

Always enjoy the ride. Never give up. Never surrender. Dream about Bruce Lee. Train in an abandoned house.

last one nails the vibe

I think I'll have to rewatch that movie soon. It's been a while.

Sorry 😞

Curious which major clients haven'tβ€”and what the reason is? Is it mostly just a case of time and effort, or have some made an argument against outbox owing to other concerns, perhaps about the direction it takes the protocol in, or something technical unbeknownst to those not in the weeds?

Primal and Damus, for example, both said in November 2023 that they would implement Outbox in 2024. They even were on a panel at Nostrasia discussing this. They're working on other things at the moment. Damus Notedeck will come with outbox by default. A while back Primal said they had begun taking steps for outbox.

Thanks, any idea why other things have taken priority? I see Primal has put considerable effort into feeds and indexing, though outbox would seem a more fundamental and therefore pressing thing to get done. I'm assuming there's a strong counter-argument, as their team is clearly plugged in.
