"Advances in computing related technologies - from chips to Quantum to artificial intelligence - are leaving to breakthroughs of remarkable scale and scope. In just a few short months since the first public version of chat GPT debuted last november, we've seen newer models outperform humans and graduate level entrance exams, and an assessment of doctor to Patient engagements in medical training programs.
We see this "hockey stick" trendline time and again, outstripping our expectations, imaginations and capacity to govern the use of enormously powerful technologies - for good or for ill. Nowhere is that more evident than in biotechnology and biomanufacturing - which can unlock extraordinary climate and health solutions and boost our economies, but whose abuse and misuse could lead to catastrophe."
Yes that is true, some people in China already believe that America controls the weather. Some people in America think America controls the weather, and it's part of a depopulation campaign - and climate change is entirely manufactured by man, specifically United States government. Although, it's possible I don't think we're there yet. China has also done extensive research on weather manufacturing. It is quite possible that one day we (humans) will live in a world where we actually need to manually manipulate the weather for survival.
The progression of technology will never slow. The only way to gain a strategic Edge is to continue advancing and evolving our technology. Progression was always designed to speed up over time.
Technology like chat GPT will enable people to become more lazy, less efficient without the assistance of AI, AGI, robotic technologies, autonomy, so on and so forth.
Our machines will become smarter as we become dumber, especially if we don't start doing something about it now.
Perhaps there are some things that should never be created, or goals that should never be accomplished. I still believe that inserting a brain chip might fall under that category. There are many ways to manipulate a brain, and although there are potentially infinite possibilities, not all of them are good and some of the bad implications definitely outweigh the good. Sometimes when embarking on an innovative, creative, groundbreaking, world shaking adventure - you have to step back and consider all of the possibilities of what you're about to do, and think of literally the absolute worst case scenario, and ask yourself: do I really want that much blood on my hands?
