River pays 3.8% sats back on cash held with River. So $1000 cuck bucks on deposit w them would earn about 115 sats per day.

That number of sats daily is obtainable on Nostr from zaps if you’re willing to put in some time and energy and create original content.

Lot of people globally don’t have $1000 usd in purchasing power lying around and most Bitcoiner’s don’t want to let their cash sit when it could be sats in cold storage.

Pretty interesting dynamic here on Nostr when contrasted with sats back interest earning figures.

Yeah but we kind of have an economy around here. Sats come in, sats go out :/

I hear you. I zap but I don’t zap everything. It has to be good. It has to original. If someone creates more content that people choose to zap vs what they see that fires them up to zap, then they’re net positive sats. It’s all up to the individual.

Right but it's gotta come from somewhere XD

I also like to point out that a zap today is equal to all the power consumption required to mine the last sats in 2140.

Yes, I should’ve added in another para about purchasing power appreciation. A 21 Sat zap today is slightly less than 2 cents of purchasing power. But in 10 years, it could be one dollar of purchasing power. Which creates another very interesting dynamic.

Don't sleep on the nostr asymmetry!

I think the value comes from have a deposit on River that your DCA pulls from. So while it’s sitting there in USD waiting to be converted, you get interest in the form of Sats.

I think the DCA can pull from your checking though. Typically people DCA weekly or biweekly as they get paid.

Most Bitcoiner’s if they have an extra $1000 in savings will smash buy Bitcoin immediately.

I use strike. And I just have my direct deposit load up money there and let my DCA pull from that pile of money. 100% set and forget is the way to go.

Why have a grand in the shit coin that is the dollar on deposit with River for 38 dollars a year when you can just buy a grands worth of BTC, do you think Bitcoin will go up by more than 3.8% this year🤔. I do🤷🏻‍♂️

From my note: “…most Bitcoiner’s don’t want to let their cash sit when it could be sats in cold storage.”
