One bit of advice regarding creative work and feedback that I’ve found most useful is from Neil Gaiman: “Remember: when people tell you something's wrong or doesn't work for them, they are almost always right. When they tell you exactly what they think is wrong and how to fix it, they are almost always wrong.”

It’s helped me multiple times, including when I submitted a partial novel for feedback at a convention and one pro loved the personality of one character and another pro said the same character was horribly two-dimensional. 🤷
