The only issue I have with Nostr is that I don’t receive any notifications when someone follows me.

It depends on the client you're using.
Iris notifies you when you get new followers. Athemyst doesn't. Snort doesn't. Etc.

Also I can’t zap people using damus. Do you know if I can zap using Iris?
Last I heard Damus is working on incorporating zaps and it should have that feature soon.
Yes you can zap using Iris.
There's something I don't like about Iris though. User experience isn't my favorite.
I use Snort on desktop and Amethyst on Android. But Amethyst has been super buggy lately.
We are early days in Nostr. More clients will come in the future and the current ones will improve.
