Agree, but no one knows what network effects are either.

People are going to come for the features, and that they are unique features they can’t find elsewhere.

Zaps is one such reason. A single key to a whole ecosystem of useful micro apps is another. Instant global translation might be yet another.

As for developers, the fact it’s entirely open, permissionless, and fast-to-start wins all.

the way I see adoption playing out is people adopting apps because they are better than the alternatives without knowing they are using nostr nor realizing the benefits of reusable keys across a world-wide range of applications (which happens to include social media)

all the benefits of private/public cryptography will be realized later by most, but there will be a single use case that feels 100x better for each person individually.
