NVK of coinkite. He has repeatedly forked other open source projects then closed his source and hassled other open source devs who forked or worked on similar projects.

I think closing the source that you forked is against the open source ethic. You collect benefit to yourself from the open source world while refusing to give back.

Worth noting that Ubuntu is open source and they even give away pro licences but Canonical turns a profit. So "he deserves to profit from his work" is particularly stupid as a defence of his actions but it seems to be what his defenders say in his defense.

Clearly I have an opinion. Look up NVK and Trezor, NVK and foundation passport, NVK and seedsigner, and NVK and Btclock then decide for yourself.

Isn't trying to close source, openspurce licensed code like, illegal or whatever? I wonder why no government actor will come to Satoshis aid. 🤔

Legality depends on the license used by the original project. Legal and moral are unrelated concepts.

Yeah, I was more mocking the futility of laws but yeah, I am an open source guy for sure.
