I should probably migrate from #ProtonMail and #ProtonVPN to #Mullvad and #Tutanota. But I should probably get a domain name as well, so I free my email from being stuck with a specific provider. Are there any downsides to using a personal domain name for your (personal) email?

Protonmail - they scan all unencrypted e-mails, they keep your private gpg keys...

ProtonVPN- Proton has received tons of money from EU - there is no free dinners...

Mullvad - is located in Sweden. Sweden has one of the worst privacy laws in the world. Police can hack lawfully devices...

Tutanota - they don't care about privacy.

Probably honeypot.

What's the solution then? I sometimes pay hobos to carry encrypted letters in Aramaic in person but it's pretty limiting.

Don't pay for VPNs just use Tor instead.

If you need an email look for e-mail provider with POP3, imap access.

Start using GPG and keep your keys locally.

Try delta.chat

For IM try use xmpp (consider self hosting) or simplex.chat
