I just can’t take anyone seriously when they use those exaggerated expressions in thumbnails. This trend has been around for years, but I’ll never get used to it. It’s especially annoying when I’m watching something with a more intellectual tone, only to see the creators still using those goofy faces on their thumbnails

I don't click on these, no matter how great the vid might be. I'm a very stubborn, principled man and would be ashamed to contribute 1 extra "view" to their stats.

i’d agree with you, but after a certain extent, you might be hurting yourself…

I use third-party YouTube front-ends like Invidious when I really want or need to watch something that annoying, even though I know it isn’t a foolproof way to avoid contributing to their stats
