One of my first vivid memories was climbing out of the crib. Pillow first, then escape. I've heard people say that it's not possible to remember anything at that age.

Very cool! I believe you can remember as far back as birth. My district earliest memory is at 5mo in my crib with my mom taking a photo of me while putting a head scarf of my head. I remember clearly I didn’t like it and tried to take it off. Then she made me laugh somehow and snapped the photo.
It’s not a coincidence that everyone who has a distinct early memory from the crib also has a corresponding photograph of the precise moment…
Im not saying that’s not a real memory, I’m just suggesting that it is possible that your brain has recreated that scene and associated memory to match the photograph.
Yes, very possible. I have no way of verifying the validity of my memory - if it was pre or post photo.
Your original question is an interesting one for sure. Now I have myself doubting whether my earliest memories are originals, or if they have been rewritten in my memory after flipping through a family photo album
I do have other mementos around that age though and no photos. Could also be figments of my imagination though!

I think the human memory is rather tragic. We have so many great experiences throughout our life but many moments are just lost. It’s a great reason to be journaling semi-regularly. I should get back to that!
Reminded me to write down the day my 2nd son was born. I wrote a journal entry of my first, but not 2nd.
