More than 50 is a good sign. More than a few thousand doesn't matter.
Discussion
Agreed. Anything over 3000 followers, or so, is usually just "Because I'm big in Japan" and reveals no additional information about their behavior on Nostr, in particular.
We have npubs with high follower numbers, that are just RSS feeds. We have highly-trusted npubs, that mostly write on slightly obscure or technical/academic topics, that have surprisingly low follower counts.
We also have npubs that go to meetups, that have low follower numbers because they're mostly reading, zapping, and reacting, on Nostr, not writing notes.
What do you think about this proposal?
I like this. I was thinking about some sort of event with a lot of fields that a user could add custom weights to each field. Something like global zaps - 20, people I follow replied - 50, people I follow follow - 10, etc. Then each user can make their own weights for their personal WoT.
A different idea but I think your is good too!
Well, that's for evaluating the information available. This is for generating additional information, that could subsequently be weighted. A "meetup" confirmation from nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 or nostr:npub1995y964wmxl94crx3ksfley24szjr390skdd237ex9z7ttp5c9lqld8vtf would probably get you a high WoT because most npubs would give it a high weighting.
