Yes, you can have obscura-quality vpn without installing a vpn at the network level with quic.

It’s the same tech apple private relays are based on, and they are supported on ios at the os level. I talked to carl about potentially supporting this mode in obscura, otherwise I am asking around for private relay partners.

Why on apps and not on the OS directly? It would be much easier to enforce traffic at the OS level.

Because sometimes I disable my vpn, or forget it is disabled, if I was built in it would provide safety for users, and wouldn't allow relay traffic till connected.

For many non-tech people, setting-up a VPN is not trivial.

The Robosats app fires-up a Tor connection when the app starts. It's very low friction.
