its more like a religious publication given their rhetoric; their primary audience target are those who desire an alternative to chinese state media (short list for anything long-standing), and epoch times has an impressive track record capturing that audience across the chinese speaking world

however their reporting is often shoddy and the digital transition has been rough for them. I wouldn't believe a state actor is behind it because it'd be very weak propaganda if after all the decades of building an audience and network -- all they can muster is a traveling circus. it's by no means a media powehouse

certainly not something i pick up on for anything important, but i can appreciate its existence.

theres an audience out there yhay have nothing to look forward to but divine judgement over their enemies; epoch times fills that (tragic) void non-stop 😅
