granted I'm a sample size of one but none of my doctors has ever pushed the procedure of circumsicison. in fact, I don't recall them ever mentioning it because I never did.

It was really pushed on me. Not in that it was a conversation with a doctor. Nurses would ask and we would say no we're not doing that. Except we had to tell them several times a day before and after delivery. Nurses would come in my room and try to take my baby for the procedure assuming we just hadn't done it yet. It was really weird and eventually infuriating.

that sounds so annoying!

I put it in my birth plan to not have circumsicison among other things and gave multiple copies to the nurse that admitted me into labor and delivery so she'd have extras for the different shifts.

Now that's the way to do it. 🙌🏽

That’s crazy. I don’t recall that being pushed on us but certainly other things were that I very clearly said I wasn’t interested in.

I truly didn't expect it. But it's such a default decision for parents that they kept assuming. I was in such a bad mental state too. It's a mind trip for random strangers to keep coming to try to take your baby to cut off a part of their body.

Did you deliver in the US?

Yes! Maryland
