Anyone else like historical docudramas? If so, which ones?

I’m really looking forward to Shogun.

Where is that? And when

Based on the book by James Clavell. It’s not a docudrama, per se, as it’s considered historical fiction, heavily based on true events.

Release date Feb 27, FX and Hulu.

Does band of brothers count in the genre?

Hmm more drama than documentary id say. The newer stuff has more balance with commentary. I guess BoB would be the original docudrama?

Ah, sorry I thought you were looking for more drama based on true/real events.

i) Argo

ii) Zero Dark Thirty

iii) Zodiac

iv) Dog Day Afternoon

in no particular order, and these are the pieces I can remember all of a sudden.

argo and zero dark thirty are movies no? they dont have documentary style commentary as far as i know

Yes, but I consider them like documentaries. If you like the style than go ahead.

Umm 🤔 I like PBS documentaries… basic 🤣

Tales of the green valley, victorian kitchen farm and war time farm. Not exactly dramas or documentaries but I still like them 🤣
