I did MMA at 145, kickboxing at 145 and boxing at 136.
That was my last time competing. I did do grappling tournaments after that, but no striking.

Getting hit in the head sucks. It’s fun and a rush but just not worth it.
I was pretty good, but I decided to focus on my business instead. I didn't feel like I could excel at both at the same time.
Head damage is definitely a risk, but we trained very smart at our gym. Injuries as a whole were very low.
A culture of training smart is huge. Respect OG🫡
I remember going to a boxing gym, where sparring was basically full on fighting. I remember for that month, every time I'd park in the back, I'd be going through a mental routine to prepare myself to get into danger. It was not very enjoyable lol.
I'm glad my MMA gym was the opposite. Everyone took care of each other. We trained hard, yet everyone was going home healthy.
