Don't use muun. They charge you for them to open channels. Use your own node.
This is the first time they've ever used lightning, Muun is certainly a much better place to start than setting up and managing your own node.
I get pushing for non-custodial, but telling people to run their own lightning node and manage channels at the outset is bad advice, imo.
absolutely! the vast majority of people will never run their own node (unless they're running one without ever knowing that they're doing it. i..e Mutiny, Phoenix, Bull Bitcoin)
Muun is *okay* to use, however you will experience very high fees from time to time, especially with current state of the on-chain mempool. I would highly recommend looking into and testing something else.
