When Windows executable to run a personal relay on your personal computer? Aunt Beth wants to backup her notes too.
Discussion
She doesn't wanna compile c++ code herself? Ngmi
I heard she didn't mind if it had an advanced settings toggle to configure a few settings and variables.
there is tray relay please try it - just for local personal cache use
then enable it as a cache relay in noStrudel https://nostrudel.ninja/#/relays/cache
Looks like Cody has a number of things in progress... Awesomesauce!
Was wondering this today, why is this nog a thing yet
Is running a personal relay really the best solution for nostr backups? Surely network traversing is a non-trivial issue whenever you're not on the same network as your PC? Aunt Beth is not going to use tailscale. Wouldn't something like https://nostrsync.live, perhaps running locally and with some backup automation, be a better solution?
a relay could be configured to look at other relays for events and download any missing events. this is already the case for Umbrel's relay.
Not sure I fully understand your question, but both Umbrel and Start9 have a Nostr app that can backup your content. Pretty easy though normies likely will need a walkthrough to get comfortable, but itβs fairly plug and play.
91.3% of the world won't run those. They're great for the less technical nerds and early adopters though. We need more mainstream options. Apparently we have one that just launched! π₯π₯
