I believe it's crucial to retain all data as it encourages everyone to carefully consider their posts, ultimately contributing to the overall quality of content.
Not purging yet, but I suspect longer term we'll be nixing all Notes older than 3, or if really swamped, 1, month.
Of course you can keep local copies of everything. For us to keep it might be a premium service.
Storing stuff costs money.
I rather like this idea.
I wonder if a relay could be set up to give a 48 hour warning on a note to the originator and have the ability to zap that note directly to pay for another year of hosting.
