You convinced me to give you a second chance. With that said, ALL SQUARE TERMINALS SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCEOT BTCOIN FROM CUSTOMERS. Let the merchants get it as USD if they want but having it as an option will drive usage. Bitcoin as medium of exchange must be bootstrapped on the merchant side.

I agree it'd be great if customers could pay at square terminal with bitcoin, but at least merchants now have the option to automatically convert some of their sales to bitcoin. I hope this is a first step to future full bitcoin/lightning customer payment support.

that doesn't help customers who want to spend bitcoin though. the tech is already built into cash app just move it over to the terminal..
Square has millions of terminals out there, I'm pretty sure the problem is more about training than technology. The front line retail works need to be able to handle all the bitcoin lingo and qr codes and different ways payments can fail. How do you handle refunds? what happens if customer says payment went through but it doesn't show up on terminal? Anyway I'm sure it will happen eventually but it's still early days in bitcoin land.
I can answer all of this. on checkout screen customer taps Bitcoin. invoice appears. lightning only, obviously. payment fails. okay use your credit card then. 👍
