Stop debating which donors are corrupting politics and start asking why we built a government so powerful that buying influence became a rational investment strategy. Limit federal authority, limit the corruption market.

Start viewing Romney's opinion on corporations as a narrative driver that keeps people from focusing on the real problem for almost two decades, so far.

I'd argue that mass media made buying the government via manipulation of voters a viable strategy. Prior to the telegraph, radio, TV, and internet, it would take a lot more work to cobble together a majority. You can't exactly blame the founders for not anticipating the ability to communicate at the speed of light.

And who owns mainstream media…?

I place no blame on the founders.
