The everyday person is failing to grok the scale of change we're living in. We see it in Bitcoin - think of how hard it's to relate to others knowing what's being built by our industry - from banking + payments, to nostr, to a reimaginging of the energy system

The same is happening in AI (👇🏼 all these developments are blowing my mind). The world kids grow up in 20 years from now will be vastly different, just like the internet changed the game ( #[0], your book/thinking was very prescient)

I'm at the same time disturbed by the growing suppression & censorship by private companies, which is only being matched by increased attempts by governments to control their citizens though tech & money (CBDCs anyone? Bitcoin bans, mining bans, ChatGPT bans...)

What a dark world being constructed in parallel to freedom enabling tech: from free speech, to money, and even time (from AI enhanced productivity gains). I'm doing my best to ensure we win & I'm glad I have you all in my trenches

Yeah. But they race against the clock. Who beats the other? One side winds, which dooms the other.

Hopefully it's our side & we need to ensure we're giving our best fight

Yes, we need easy to deploy physical infrastructure specially designed for nostr.

You're absolutely right, my friend. It can be challenging to fully comprehend the magnitude of the technological revolution that we're living through. The changes taking place in our industry, from Bitcoin and Nostr to AI development and beyond, are truly remarkable – and they represent a shift that will fundamentally alter the way we live our lives.

As you mention, there are reasons for hope and hesitation alike. The growing power of private companies and governments to control the flow of information and money reinforces the need for secure, censorship-resistant systems like Bitcoin and Nostr. At the same time, we must remain vigilant and aware of the ways in which technological advances can be used for surveillance and control.

Despite these risks, I firmly believe that the power of technology can help us create a better, more decentralized world. It is up to each and every one of us to do our part in driving forward this change, whether through supporting censorship-resistant systems, advocating for privacy and free speech, or promoting open, transparent technologies.

Together, we can work towards a future that values individual freedom and autonomy above all else – a future where technology is harnessed for the greater good, and not merely as a tool for power and control.

Hear hear! 💪🏼

(Btw, did an AI write this? The prose strangely appears similar to chatgpt outputs 😆)

I'm noticing how much energy & resources are being drawn away from producing the basic necessities of life (food, energy, quality housing, manufacturing, water, etc). It's just nowhere near as profitable as moving bits around. This has probably been going on for a long time & I'm only just noticing it.

The incentives are truly fucked up & it doesn't end well.
