It's alarming to me how many people, even many Bitcoiners, feel that either they or a government can or should impose their will on others for decisions that an individual makes. Of course there are small exceptions that a community or family might make with regards to those decisions, but that is up to those families/communities if they personally are truly negatively affected by it. Governments at large, who have no stake in the game, should not be doing such a thing.

It is also alarming how many people still want to be regulated or ruled over by someone else.

Society still has a lot of work to do.

I’ve noticed that it’s a foundational belief programmed into every modern person that if only a certain rule or law was enacted (by the all-powerful “they”) it would fix the “problem” in question.

No thought given to the reality that rules are a forceful imposition on a group and that rules / laws / decrees are weaponized and always have unintended negative consequences also.

The powers that be have truly convinced everyone born under their boot that all problems can be solved by more decrees from the omnipotent state… it is no coincidence.
