It might probably happen, but not with this timeline. And yes if we could skip CBDC it would be better.

If there's enough distaste for it such that it would be political suicide to attempt a CBDC, then we might skip it.

But I'm not convinced we are there yet. There's still an abundace of deep-seated fuckery going on in the USG.

Sometimes adoption of totalitarian policies are not skipped but rather delayed until there's a better climate for it.

If a CBDC gets skipped this time around, and Bitcoin becomes well entrenched, then there's a much better chance that a CBDC won't happen at all.

But it really depends on how much of this totalitarian bullshit US citizens are able to squash out of existence.
