The view that bitcoin is an investment only and a partisan issue is very typical for US-Americans and Europeans as it ignores billions of people in the rest of the world who need bitcoin as a tool to escape their authoritarian regimes’ financial oppression.
Bitcoin is a technology and the only form of money beneath cash that can be used by anyone without permission. Bitcoin doesn’t need politicians good will. Bitcoin is rules without rulers.

Western privilege makes it only make sense to see Bitcoin mainly as an investment vehicle.
Outside of that privilege it becomes more a permissionless payment rail, which conserves their savings.
It is the 'investors' that help holding the value (even with all the volatility, it is just free market), that makes it make sense to use as payment rail, being permissionless payment rail )at least having that option) makes it make sense to invest (not just scarcity, I have less than 21M drawings, that doesn't make them valuable)

That is, the current banking system - that surveils all transactions and freezes bank accounts on a whim, with no customer recourse. Digital prison is getting built very fast. Soon will be just like the rest of the world and dependent on bitcoin to survive.

In many African countries people are exchanging local currencies to USD or Rand or from bank accounts to mobile money etc with money traders who also will take bitcoin and give them local currency. It’s real peer to peer.
