Professionally I'm an actuary, who works with mortality data, and various analytics projects using mostly R. I work in life reinsurance. The above experience made an interest in COVID-19 inevitible. I've also tinkered with Bitcoin since 2013. #rstats, #covid19, #analytics, #reinsurance, #photography, #bitcoin, #programming, #hiking, #travel, #wine, #capetown, #southafrica, and more.

I find this argument useful. I simply can't find a counter argument clearly documented anywhere.

It's also signed by a bunch of technically competent people.

I've seen lots of ad hominems by the developer of Knots but not a clear argument? Happy to be pointed to something written down.

Is there a a piece of writing somewhere that sets out the technical argument why should run Knots? I want to read the arguments but have not seen a clear explanation. nostr:nprofile1qqs0m40g76hqmwqhhc9hrk3qfxxpsp5k3k9xgk24nsjf7v305u6xffcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcltxu3w

They could make that case in court surely? I mean it contradicts what they say all the time about wanting to take over the whole of Gaza. They can defend that too if they want. This is something that signed up to. So if they are innocent why do they not follow your process they signed up to?

Blockstream seems to be ramping up and splitting off separate businesses.

Also investment products and new offices in Tokyo.

It avoids costly verification of every transaction in the block. I do this when I start a new node. I find a valid block I've verified on an existing node and run it from there. You may want to find a slightly older block (a day or two?).

You can set a block hash to be assumed valid (assumevalid in conf file). It will not verify blocks before that point. This speeds up download significantly. So find a block that you deem valid and add it to the config file.
