Yeah, so, I just wasted 4 hours of my life trying to get https://github.com/jamesmagoo/nostr-writer to compile, but I was just stumbling from one bug-fix to the next, with no end in site. On and on and on....

The good news is, I now know how to build a much better, simpler, and more secure Obsidian plugin, and I found an Asciidoc plugin, so things are going to get interesting.

But, yeah, I have to build one completely from scratch. That's just too much of a hot mess of spaghetti 🍝 .

He apparently started hacking wildly on the keyboard with no plan, so everything is just redundant and randomly-placed, and he's given up maintaining his Big Ball of Mud. 😅

BEST ABANDONWARE EVAH!

Yo, bro, ya gotta implement AUTH. Ya gotta implement something other than "paste in nsec". Ya gotta support Asciidoc. Ya gotta...

literally almost every nostr project ever

Code it. Take the zaps and run.

when do we get to take the zaps again? 😅

lol, when we build something that is worth paying for

Instructions unclear, now living in a shantytown.

Zaps wen?

how would the zaps get to you anyway? dun have any electric anyway, you gotta burn tires to cook here

Yep that "paste nsec here" is always a bad starter, agreed. Nonetheless, the plugin is pretty functional and still a relevant idea for writing productivity I guess.

How far did you get with this?

I have been using Nostr plugin for Obsidian but

1. Image upload is now broken. Articles still publish just without any image, and I have to upload them separately.

2. "d" tag is a random string, but many clients use this as a URL, so ideally I would use keywords or a string derived from the title.

3. Two-way sync between Nostr and the vault would be a killer feature.

I can't recall image upload ever working.

We put it in the shelf, as we're going to expand it to allow Markdown or Asciidoc and to produce 30040 publications. We need the new parser, for that.

Great

Goal is to use it for Kind 01 OPs, long-form, wiki, and publications. Obsidian seems like a good place to look for writers.
