Today we dig into what is known as “the college enrollment cliff” which officially begins in 2025 but has really already begun to be felt.
We will then go beyond that to look at what the cliff says about our economy and society as a whole. The truth is our nation is in big trouble.
College dropout here. They took me as an engineering major when I was solid c student in high school. With math being the subject area that was pulling down my GPA. At least I didn’t have to borrow money to go.
I've got a part-time coworker who is here to get out of trade school, is in trade school to get out of regular school, brags about barely passing certifications, and thinks all his teachers are dumb. But he's going to college because he's in the reserves and it's free. He talks more about how cool the dorms look than he does about what he's going to learn in "sports management" or "archeology," fields with so many job opportunities.
