So, the thing that gets people using Nostr is the object they're discussing. It's the other stuff.

But once you have an npub, you can use it to discuss any stuff. Websites, news articles, breastfeeding, cooking, training for a marathon, programming, music, video games, etc.

And, yes, random shit you thought up while using the restroom and selfies from your living room comfy chair. Because life without random shit is possible, but not recommended.

And I think git on Nostr is a killer app.

Literally thrilling to use it because it removes all the bullshit you hated about GitHub and then it adds features you can't do over GitHub, and integrates it into your Everything Feed, so you don't need Yet Another Fucking App (YAFA) to keep track of what is going on there.

At the same time, that you could take a break from the dev chatter by filtering out specifically the git kinds and go touch some 🌱 and get some ☀️

I just totally noticed this because I reinstalled Linux and I got my Nostr browser extension set up with 3 npubs in about 2 minutes and could immediately log into all my apps (like GitWorkshop and Nostrudel) and just start working and then I had to setup Slack, Thunderbird, and GitHub and it be like *inner groan*.

That shit's so fucking annoying. Excuse my French, but fr.

<15 secs per login with a setup pw manager?

Am I missing something

Your missing that the workflow is slightly different in each and often involves, e-mail, authenticators, captcha, etc.

I haven't even setup most of the non-Nostr stuff because I was just like nope, not today. I have like 8 more apps to go. Just shoot me now. 😂

But just think about it. You get a new phone or laptop or whatever and it's like login once. Done.

I could totally see a client having like an in-office/touch-grass feed toggle.

Could even set it to a timer or calendar and be like, don't be sending me no edits to the department budget statement while I'm on vacation or at 8 pm on a Friday. Babysitter always gets through, as does flight change data...
