that's a huge loss man, I'm really sorry to hear that. it hurts.

even though it was reckless from us to allow people to run mints on lnbits, and also a bit reckless of you to put so many sats in there, it's necessary to point out that this incident wasn't due to a technical mistakes or issues with cashu or something the devs could have prevented from happening. the lnbits server was hacked (due to lnbits being vulnerable) and the hacker stole from many more people than just the mints that were running there.

again, I'm really sorry. I also lost money on that hack. but that too wasn't because of cashu.

It was a pre-hack, technical issue. The backup button wasn’t work.

Working* in one of the earlier versions. And you’re right I was reckless because I didn’t understand what it was. That’s why I want to let people know, it’s not bitcoin. It’s a side chain and things could technically go wrong and you could lose your shit because it’s “so private” and you may not “have recovery keys” if the “backup button doesn’t work” 😂
