How is this bill structured? Is it going to be like Damus purple subscription: 15,000 sats per year which makes it affordable one year and then unaffordable the next year? Or will it be pegged to the dollar and just paid out in bitcoin? It might backfire when all the government officials become filthy rich as their public remains poor. Let's wait and see! 🍿🥤
The bill itself is fine. Whether or not it has support- I don't know. I doubt it. But, if it does have support, it only has traction because a mining company is moving into the state to harvest electricity from our lake and dam. Google has been here for years with a large data center.
As cool as it all sounds, this is industrial moves, which will mostly affect the industry of Bitcoin mining. If there was a way to see how much Bitcoin the state of Oklahoma has produced since 2009- you would probably laugh. I doubt any employer is going to change their pay structures for this. Likely just the one mining company and basically no one else. Good for them. Good for Nostr to celebrate any bill that has Bitcoin involved.
But where's the change? Lol.
The scepticism holds weight, and it is very important to remain vigilant about the true intentions of politicians and their bills. That being said, it is still a positive advancement in that it demonstrates a desire to move in the direction of #Bitcoin payments and furthermore advertising a paradigm shift into a global Bitcoin Standard with the associated psychology. For mass adoption this will be required by the average person. If nothing else, it will initially set an example for other players to establish something similar—perhaps even more authentic, functional, and desirable.
Slow change illusion, the landscapes of the world are definitely changing.
