On my walk earlier today I noticed some "berries" on an eastern red cedar. The "berries" are not actually berries, but tiny pine cones. And the eastern red cedar, which we have all over our property, is not a cedar at all, but a type of juniper. But most people refer to them as cedar trees, at least around here. The "berries" are edible in moderation, and many bird species love them. #grownostr #cedar #permies #juniper

I bet they smell divine

Yes! I can never understand why they're called cedars there, makes no sense to me. I hear many people there have allergies to these plants as well.

Yes some people have terrible allergies to them.

You can make your own gin with those berries!

They make a great spice when you dry them and use them in a pepper grinder.

Thats a good tip, never tried that.😊
