Thinking of doing some posters and stickers promoting my stream but I'm really crap at graphic design. However, I find AI art pretty boring and frankly I have zero budget so I'm not going to insult someone by blagging for freebies.

AI would be the get out of jail free card for one lacking in skills but I'm leaning into the idea of deliberately bad work, using Comic Sans and Clip Art. I want to do something so crud only a human could be responsible.

Is this a terrible idea? The posters I'm going to fly-post round my home town and maybe sell on Redbubble. Oh and is there a Redbubble type store that does magic internet money?

Do it!

Just do it! The only way to know is to go for it. I would suggest don’t just come up with one design, challenge yourself to make 10 completely different designs. Focus on getting it done, don’t worry if it’s good/perfect

Put it out into the world and see what happens. No matter what you will learn something.

Good advice, I’ll keep playing once I’ve done a few household chores.

I feel the same about AI art. But I used it to create the cover for my latest single. Where it’s good or not 🤷‍♂️ but I like it. AI is just a tool. You can have the best electric guitar but still make write a terrible song.

True indeed, I’m not anti AI per say, just don’t think it’s the right tool for the particular job. I want to lean into the idea that what I’m doing is very human and that includes mistakes and silliness, which an LLM would not understand.

I totally get using it for cover art, especially in a market where paying for design just isn’t a sensible move budget wise.

How many attempts did it take to get a design you liked?
