What's the app? I travel there for work so I should learn more than the few phrases I know.

Duolingo!

Nice one!! It’s such a great way to learn a new language.

Nice!

Does that do just spoken, or hangul-written as well?

Awesomesauce either way!

Spoken and Hangul. So much easier learning to speak Korean if you learn Hangul imo.

Spent a year there. Wished I would have learned more than I did.

Got by okay, and LOVED most of the food.

That’s awesome. Were you there teaching?

I love how popular Korean food and culture has gotten in the US. We are hoping to spend a lot more time there when we make the move to Hawaii this summer.

Teaching would have been sweet.

But alas, I was deployed there. It was really awesome to go/stay on Uncle Sam's dime though.

I think if I hadn't been so young and broke I would have seen and done more.

Very grateful for the chance, and the things I DID experience.

That’s awesome! Congratulations! I’m loving the app myself. I’m learning Spanish!

잘헸어!

감사합니다

What are you using?

That’s DuoLingo 🦉

Duolingo

Keep it up…I’m on 450 days with Turkish…

That is amazing!!!!

Thanks. Make sure you keep it up. That one year badge is worth the effort.

German for me!

576 days!! That is phenomenal! Would you consider yourself conversational in German now? I’m trying to watch Korean dramas and movies to help supplement what I’m learning on Duolingo.

I would consider myself a decent German voyeur. I can listen and understand the gist of most conversations but I could only participate minimally in a nuanced conversation. I think that’s about where Duolingo can get you. You need to do some extra work on the side to become a competent speaker.

May I ask which language app this is?
