I didn’t commit to doing March Off Twitter, but I’ve barely been tweeting and like 87% of my few tweets have been about nostr. Just, organically the shift is palpable. I’ve tweeted 5 times over two days. 3 of those 5 tweets were about nostr. 🙃

Usually I’d have posted 5 tweets at least most days, especially weekdays.

This July marks 15 years on Twitter for me. In 2009 I cohosted ThisWeekIn Twitter. (lol) I’ve watched that company and technology expand beyond belief from the product I first experienced. I was there before retweets were there.

But there is the flip side of Twitter not being now what it was then, and it’s less wholesome. It’s offering very little of the product I fell for, built so much of my business around. And my life. Nostr feels more like the features of that early twitter product that grabbed our attention. Nostr is more *Twitter* than Twitter is anymore.

I’ve said, and I mean, that I intend to keep my twitter account. 15 years, y’all. Valuable connections. Memories. (Yes I’ve done a backup recently🫡). But I’m sure most of us have a MySpace page out there somewhere too.

That doesn’t mean we’re using it.

Well said 👏, there’s plenty of room to exist in both. We should embrace all different types of social media and have the freedom to exist to whichever ones we like.

True. But a test to feel if we ‘miss’ Twitter never hurts. I noticed it’s “programmed” in my head to open twitter every now and then when on my phone. By deleting it, it prevents me from opening and focus more on Nostr

I respect that.. i know for some have been there for years and a lit of business opportunities still arise for you guys so i respect that. In my i literally got on Twitter 6 months ago lmao i didn't have normies follow me it was all bitcoiners and crypto🤮dudes no family or friends lol

I nuked my account a few weeks ago, was on there since 2008, feels like a positive step forward!

I hear ya, different strokes for different folks! Some business need Twitter or Insta or FB or whatever…no judgment here, only I don’t have the luxury of ‘turning off’ certain types of social media that my business is reliant on.

Coordinated shill campaigns are not "organic."

Going to treat Twitter the way I do LinkedIn after this month. 😶‍🌫️

Seeing an organic feed vs an algo feed hits different.

There’s no reshuffling and re highlight of stuff in Nostr just a stream of consciousness.

You can get more of a vibe of the space by just coming in.

Yea i think it's important to keep a presence in many places for many reasons. To combat fud and misinformation, to spread the signal to those who have not yet discovered bitcoin, and to keep planting seeds everywhere for the future forest to grow.

I don't think there will be a switch any time soon. There will be coexistence for a long time. NPCs are just starting to join twitter.
